Alain Godon Returns to Miami with a Bold New Exhibition

This spring, Miami’s vibrant art scene welcomes back one of contemporary pop art’s most playful and architectural minds. Running through April 8, Carousel Fine Art, in collaboration with Markowicz Fine Art, will present an expansive solo exhibition by celebrated French artist Alain Godon at Carousel’s Miami gallery, located at 7620 NE 4th Ct. The show promises to be an immersive journey into the colorful, dreamlike world that has become Godon’s signature.

The exhibition opens with a reception and exclusive artist meet-and-greet on March 13th from 6 to 9 p.m., where the first 50 guests will receive a signed poster by the artist – an ideal collector’s item and a vibrant introduction to Godon’s imaginative universe.

Known for his quirky visual narratives, bold color palette, and architectural admiration, Godon has become an international name in pop art. His distinctive style – often described as “Childish Art” – mixes deconstruction, humor, and an unmistakable sense of joy. Whether reinterpreting global cityscapes or transforming everyday scenes into surreal tableaux, his works evoke a sense of nostalgic wonder, inviting viewers into a layered world of reconcilable landmarks and frame-within-frame storytelling.

Beyond the canvas, Godon’s bronze sculptures echo the same whimsical vision, translating his dynamic figures and characters into dimensional form. In 2022, he pushed the boundaries of his artistry further by introducing QT (“Cutie”), a unique technique using meticulously layered cut paper to build vibrant, three-dimensional works – a process that bridges fine art and playful craft.

With a career that spans continents, Godon’s work has been showcased in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Bali, and Miami, and was notably featured in the 2001 French National Assembly. His relationship with South Florida runs deep: he was commissioned to contribute to the opening of the New World Center and was chosen to illustrate the 2015 Miami Beach City Report.
