Along the way, on the rural roads, you’ll discover—sand dunes, cacti, wild goats and donkeys, splashes of rough Caribbean waters, lots of rocks, and dirt, of course, a gold mine, and even Rock Wish Garden, located on the northern coast of Aruba where you will see rocks stacked on top of each other placed by persons that have asked for a special wish or good luck.
The rugged north coast is historical grounds where you will find remnants of lucrative gold mining days in early Aruban history. Housed at Arikok national park are the sites of Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins and the Balashi Gold Mill Ruins which you can visit during your jeep tour.
There are also caves to explore on Aruba, including Guadirikiri, Huliba, and Fontein, all located in the Arikok National Park. Fontein is known for its multitude of geometric and zoomorphic (animal) cave drawings, created by Arawak Indians 2000-3500 years ago.

Aruba Mural Tours in San Nicolas
Artists hailing from Argentina to Amsterdam have come to Aruba to create an outdoor gallery of 44 murals, many of which focus on nature themes and have been created during the Aruba Art Fair.
The murals and tour mark a new direction for the forgotten city of San Nicolas. While it is the island’s second-largest city, its downtown is barren. The area was deserted when Exxon closed its oil refinery in 1985.
One passionate art aficionado had a big impact on the revitalization of the Aruba art scene. The Aruban-born Tito Bolivar traveled to Bogota, Colombia, in 2015 and fell in love with the city’s street art and the way it transformed different neighborhoods. He envisioned adopting a similar strategy back home to breathe new life into San Nicolas’ decaying buildings.
As the curator of the murals, he does extensive research searching for top artists from around the world and has helped turn San Nicolas, Aruba into an art district.
The Aruba Mural Tour is presented by Tito himself and his passion for art is contagious. The tour is a highly enlightening walking tour featuring international muralists.
