In a few words, describe who Toni Costa is.
I see myself as a fun dad, and a bit of a spoiler. I’m very family-oriented and passionate. I avoid conflict and prefer to maintain a positive and cheerful attitude, even in tough situations. I believe in the law of attraction, so I always try to attract good things in life.
I’m affectionate, a good friend, and a jokester. I love comedy, making plans, traveling, and many activities. I enjoy taking care of myself, exercising, playing golf, watching Netflix, going to the beach, the mountains, and the countryside. I like to look good and dress well. I love shopping when possible, and I’m handy; I don’t stop until I finish what I start. I’m a bit stubborn, but if you know how to handle me, I’m the opposite. I enjoy having a beer and usually arrive at the last minute, but I always make it. And if there’s music, watch out because I’ll definitely ask you to dance!
How did you start your career?
My dance career began at age 5, learning from my parents, who opened Elite Dance Studio in Valencia, Spain. Initially, I preferred playing soccer, but my family always supported my passion for dance. I participated in shows, TV, performances, and competitions across Spain and Europe, and worked as a teacher at our dance school.
At 21, I debuted on TV in ‘Mira Quién Baila’ on TVE1, participating as a dancer and choreographer for 7 seasons (2005-2010). In 2011, I moved to the U.S. to work on MQB, participating in 8 more seasons in various roles. Since 2012, I’ve been involved in the world of Zumba, traveling and promoting health across the USA and Latin America.
What would you describe as the best moment of your life?
Definitely when Alaïa was born; that moment changed my life forever. There was a before and after since true love had arrived in my life.
What does your daughter Alaïa mean to you? How has your life changed since her birth?
Alaïa is an indescribable love for me; she’s my reason for being and my driving force. Since her birth, I became Toni the dad, a role I love and enjoy to the fullest at every stage. Everything in my life, from plans to professional decisions, revolves around her well-being and happiness.
What does being a father mean to you? And what is the best part of it?
Being a father means rising to a new level as a person. Everything multiplies –love, protection, care, and attention. Your inner child reappears, you play, dream, and regain confidence and joy. Being a father is an indescribable experience that must be felt to understand its true meaning.
