What has been the Mother’s Day gift you have enjoyed the most?
Of course, being a mom! I think that just seeing my son, holding him in my arms and being with him is the greatest gift; it is something that cannot be compared with anything material.

Can you be a mom and a friend at the same time? Where is the limit?
Of course! I am a mom and a friend, and the limit comes when a situation arrives in which you have to let your child know that, before being a friend, I am a mom, and that because I love him and because I am his mom, I obviously want the best for him – it is not advice, it is more of an order for his own good.

One word that defines your relationship with your son?
Love! I cannot find another word. It is a love so great it has no explanation; I would not know how to describe it, even with words.

At what moment did you think “my mom was right”?
Ahh!… It happened to me when I was married and got divorced. At some point my mom told me, “this is not right, it does not work with this person,” and I made the decision to continue with that relationship because I had already been married many years, and in the end I realized it did not work and I said, “my mom was right.”

How do you think your son sees you?
Well, as a fighter, a warrior. He has always said I am his heroine, because I was a mom in my teens and, despite how young I was, we moved forward together, and he has great admiration for me in that regard.

If there were something you could do over as a mom, what would it be?
Oh, I don’t know! I feel I have enjoyed my son a lot, I have been an excellent mom, but if time could go back I think I would look at him more, kiss him more, hug him more… I would do everything 3 times more with him.

You have been a very consistent and successful woman in every facet of your talent you have explored. What is the secret?
I have always said it: the secret is perseverance. Maybe something does not work out today, or they tell you no, but tomorrow they tell you yes. You simply have to keep persevering, renewing yourself day after day so you do not fall behind in any aspect – but perseverance is the most important quality in a career like this.

When you look back, do you feel satisfied with the road traveled? Would you do anything differently?
Super satisfied! I feel life has surprised me more than I imagined; it has given me more things than I perhaps imagined, and that made me become a dreamer, eager for each year to come, to see what new and wonderful thing is going to happen to me, because every year has been incredible work-wise. So there are no limits.

As a host you have been on all kinds of shows. Tell us about “Más noche” and its format.
“Más noche” is a show of pure guests, the artists of the moment; those artists also do different sketches, we have the singers of the moment because we have musical performances, and it was a show that started and in a short time became one of the most-watched shows in Mexico. It is also now airing in the United States on Univision, Saturday nights, and in such a short time we were nominated for the TV y Novelas awards, so I am super happy about it.

What are Ximena Córdoba’s next projects?
I don’t know! Because in this job everything surprises you; everything changes overnight.

Have you fulfilled all your dreams?
Yes, of course! I feel very fulfilled. I am a mom; I am a person who is professionally, in my opinion and in the opinion of many people, successful. In love, of course, I have known love and heartbreak too; that is part of life. I feel very fulfilled at this moment of my life. I feel I could say I am in the best moment of my life and my career.
