THE SYBARITE CORNER – LA ESQUINA SIBARITA

For my mother, wine

This is mother’s month and I am planning, in addition to the gift, to take mine’s out to lunch and have several glasses of good Sauvignon Blanc (her favorite) to harmonize the Mediterranean Spicy Tuna, with the delicious herbs and the secret ingredients that makes it so unique.
I am privileged to have lunch with her frequently, and ritually share one or two glasses of wine, and for those who can’t, try even via Skype or similar means, it still works. We relax, we remember and we laugh. The wine glasses should be appropriate, ie, clear, transparent and hopefully the right size, depending on the type of wine. Always serve a third of a glass so you can spin the wine to taste
it and not spill it when you click the glasses in salute to good health.
Although it is an almost anthropological usual, it’s not necessary, can be dangerous and even frowned upon, to click the glasses. Find out more in my next article. Anyways, when we celebrate with our mothers (mom, wife, daughters, friends), even a plastic cup may be sufficient. Happy day.
