-¡Me contenta haber traído pañuelos!-.

There is nothing like an afternoon or evening at the Opera to warm the heart with romance, humor, beauty, and captivating voices. The critically acclaimed, La Bohème recently played at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami. Set in Paris, the 4 act Opera featured Adrienn Miksch, a Hungarian soprano, and Alessandro Scotto di Luzio an Italian tenor, both with impressive talent and breathtaking tones and ranges. The Parisienne sets and scenes were so realistic and charming that we immediately wanted to visit the French capital.
The romantic performance starts at Christmas time with a group of bohemian struggling artists in the Latin Quarter of Paris trying to keep warm but determined to continue their creative pursuits. Rodolfo (played by Alessandro Scotto di Luzio) stays behind when his friends leave, suddenly his lovely neighbor Mimi (played by Adrienn Miksch) knocks on the door hunting for her key.
Very quickly they fall hopelessly in love. As most couples Rodolfo and Mimi start their love affair totally infatuated, but slowly jealously and other feelings draw them apart. However apart, their love continues until the final act when Mimi becomes very sick and dies.
Heartbroken Rodolfo and all the bohemians, as much as they tried to comfort her, are not able to save Mimi. I am glad we brought our tissues!
