Diego has also been instrumental in successfully positioning MG Developer as the largest developer in Hialeah and one of the most active developers in South Florida by contributing to the completion of 11 developments. Diego’s strategic leadership and expertise have been instrumental in driving MG Developer’s impressive growth and solidifying its leadership position in the market.
What is your vision for the future of real estate and urban development?
The future of real estate and urban development lies in creating communities that balance modernity, sustainability, and livability. The focus will be on smart cities with integrated technology that enhances everyday life, reduces environmental impact, and fosters meaningful human interactions. As we move forward, urban development must prioritize green spaces, sustainable building practices, and adaptability to meet changing societal needs.
What are some of your most exciting current projects?
I’m deeply involved in The George Residences, a luxury development that merges architectural excellence with thoughtful urban planning. We’re also exploring exciting design concepts in collaboration with prominent industry figures, ensuring each project is distinct yet rooted in quality and innovation. Our latest partnership with Ryan Serhant for the exclusive sales of The George Residences marks an important milestone in MG’s history. His cutting-edge approach to real estate mirrors our ambition to redefine luxury, and together, we will bring to life a vision that honors Coral Gables’ legacy. Our team is also working on multiple projects in Coral Gables, where we aim to elevate luxury living standards while maintaining the community’s character. In addition, we have expanded into the multifamily sector in Hialeah, where my father had a vision and saw an opportunity in the city. Hialeah is pro-development, which gives us great support, and we are focused on transit-oriented developments (TOD), a critical aspect, given our belief that the primary modes of transportation in Miami will soon be metro or other forms of public transit.

What do you hope your legacy will be in the industry?
I want to leave a legacy defined by excellence and integrity. Beyond developing beautiful buildings, I aim to create communities that stand the test of time–spaces where people can thrive and build meaningful lives. I hope to be remembered for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in real estate while maintaining a solid ethical foundation and deep respect for the people who inhabit our developments.
What role does architecture and design play in your projects?
Architecture and design are at the heart of everything we do. They shape how people experience spaces, and well-thought-out design can elevate everyday living. We work closely with architects and designers to ensure every project we undertake feels cohesive, functional, and visually inspiring. Good design is not just about aesthetics–it’s about creating a sense of place and identity, offering a good quality of life. Our last two projects in Biltmore Square, Biltmore Row, and Althea Row, are perfect examples of how we honor the city’s original architecture, inspired by a Mediterranean style. These Mediterranean contemporary townhomes have meticulously crafted details everywhere, which we prioritize in all our projects.
What are the most important trends shaping the future of real estate development?
Sustainability is the most critical trend. From eco-friendly building materials to energy-efficient technologies, there is a strong shift toward beautiful and environmentally responsible developments. In addition, there’s a growing focus on mixed-use developments, where residential, commercial, and community spaces are seamlessly integrated. Lastly, technology continues to revolutionize the industry–whether through smart homes or AI-driven urban planning tools.
What values do you emphasize in your leadership?
I value integrity, collaboration, and innovation in leadership. It’s important to lead by example and maintain honesty and transparency with my team and partners. Leadership fosters a culture where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute their best work.
Who has been your biggest mentor or influence in your career?
Without a doubt, my father, Alirio Torrealba, has been my biggest mentor. His experience, vision, and commitment to excellence in real estate have shaped my approach to the industry. He’s taught me the importance of hard work, resilience, and a sense of purpose in everything we do. Watching him build his career has been incredibly inspiring, and I’m fortunate to have his guidance as I continue to grow in this field.
What is it like working alongside your father?
It’s both an honor and a unique challenge to work alongside my father. He sets a high standard, continuously pushing me to improve and strive for excellence. We share the same vision for our projects but bring different perspectives to the table, making for a dynamic partnership. His experience and wisdom are invaluable, and collaborating with him is a great privilege. At the same time, it’s rewarding to know I’m contributing to a legacy we are building together.
