What trends are you seeing for 2017?
I’ve noticed more seating with cushion, less dining comfort has become more important. How do South Florida trends differ from the rest of the nation? Florida is a bit more contemporary, more modern, colors are much lighter and fabrics tend to be plainer with less pattern.
What are the outdoor living trends for 2017? There’s definitely going to be an extension of the inside of the home where people will want to entertain and spend more time outside, more lounging and gathering.
Tell us about the new collection from Brown Jordan? I’d love to share details on the five collections we’re excited about for 2017:
Pasadena: Cushion with a mid-century design. This collection features a sleek profile and it includes cushion seating pieces like a sofa, love seat, lounge chair ottoman, and motion chair.
Crossings: a deep seating collection that elevates the look of woven furniture with the sectional design using Brown Jordan’s unique and exclusive Sunbrella strapping. Innovative engineering and collection flexibility Crossings is the ideal collection for limitless customization and comfort.
Arbre: Designed by renowned interior designer Michael Smith, this collection embraces natural textures, earthy colors, and organic warmth. Inspired by the Faux Bois technique of relief carvings mastered by the French, Irish and Swedish artisans since the 17th century. Now reinterpreted by Brown Jordan to metal.
Harwood Collection: is an updated design in the classic Georgian Chippendale manner.
Deia: Also designed by Michael Smith, this collection draws inspiration from Michael’s travels to the Northern ridge of Mallorca. Deia evokes memories of a sweet life with its unique silhouette featuring an array of aluminum frame, hand forged finials details and plush cushions. Michael Smith is one of the most high profile designers in the world, he’s a member of the AD 100 and been featured in many magazines and is currently the designer for the White House.
