Esta diva puertorriqueña, mejor conocida por su rol actual en la exitosa serie “Devious Maids” lo tiene todo -fama, fortuna y la familia perfecta-.
Todo comenzó con su sueño de algún día poder cantar en Broadway. A los 21 años, después de haber sido anfitriona del popular programa de comedia-variedad puertorriqueño, Qué Vacilón y ganar el título de Miss Puerto Rico Petite y Miss America Petite, Roselyn se mudó a la Gran Manzana en busca de ese sueño.
En realidad, fue en Nueva York donde Roselyn aprendió inglés y aunque luchó con el idioma, esto no impidió su llegada a la fama. Allí fue donde consiguió un papel en la famosa telenovela, “As the World Turns” donde interpretó al primer personaje latino del show.
Su belleza impactante, su talento, su apasionada personalidad y gran esfuerzo hacen realidad un sueño más grande -ser estrella de Hollywood-. Roselyn ha tenido numerosos roles protagónicos que incluyen: agente del FBI, Elena Delgado, en show policial “Without a Trace”, como Carmen Luna, en la comedia-drama “Devious Maids” y en la comedia española “Familia En Venta”. En el cine, Roselyn ha aparecido en “Rush Hour 2”, “Boat Trip”, “The Game Plan”, y “Act of Valor”, entre muchos otros.
Sobre su carrera musical: Su sencillo “Amor Amor” fue nominado a un Grammy Latino por Mejor Video Musical. Roselyn regresó a la industria musical en 2013, lanzando el sencillo “Pick Up Your Game”, haciendo una colaboración con el famoso rapero Flo Rida.
Pero toda la fama y la fortuna no suele estar completa, a menos que tengas a alguien con quien compartirla y ella ha sido bendecida con eso. Está casada con el bellísimo Eric Winter, un actor mejor conocido por sus roles en televisión como Rex Brady en la telenovela “Days of Our Lives”, y en “Brothers & Sisters”, “The Mentalist” y “GCB”. Tienen una hija preciosa llamada Sebella Rose, quien, muy probablemente, seguirá los pasos de sus padres.
Lo más lindo que tiene Roselyn es que comparte su buena fortuna. Ama a los animales y está muy involucrada en la protección de los animales, especialmente los perros abandonados y abusados en Puerto Rico (Petsos). También, es la “madrina” de la Fundación The San Jorge Children’s Foundation que ayuda a los niños con cáncer.
Y esta actriz, cantante, bailarina y filántropo todavía se aferra a un sueño… ¡Broadway!
Entrevista con Rosalyn Sánchez:
-¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de ser latina?
RS: Me encanta todo acerca de ser latina, lo que representa. En mi caso como una puertorriqueña, la mezcla de razas es increíble. Significa diversidad, creatividad, vitalidad, sabor, fuerza y belleza.
-¿Cuál ha sido tu personaje favorito en la televisión?
RS: Mi personaje favorito es el que tengo actualmente, Carmen Luna, en Devious Maids. Ella es tridimensional y es un rol muy divertido.
-De todos los diferentes roles de tu carrera, ¿cuál es tu favorito?
RS: Mi rol favorito es el trabajo filantrópico que hago en mi país. Este negocio me ha dado una voz para poder ayudar a los niños y los animales, mis dos pasiones en la vida.
-¿Cómo equilibras tu hogar y tu carrera?
RS: La única manera de poder equilibrar la carrera y la familia es teniendo el apoyo incondicional de mi marido, mi familia, mi equipo y mis amigos. No es fácil, pero sin duda alguna es factible si te organizas y ¡sólo lo haces!
-¿Cuál es tu secreto de belleza favorito, o el secreto de mantenerte tan joven?
RS: Yo no bebo ni fumo y nunca voy a la cama con maquillaje.
-¿Cuál es tu mantra?
RS: DIOS conmigo y yo con ÉL.
-¿Quién ha sido la persona más inspiradora en tu vida?
RS: Mi madre.
-¿Qué palabras de sabiduría puedes compartir con las jóvenes latinas aspirantes?
RS: Tener una visión clara de quien eres, lo que quieres y nunca dudar. La fuerza y la sabiduría te llevarán al éxito.
-¿Será bilingüe tu hija Sebella?
RS: Definitivamente quiero que sea bilingüe… Ella habla los dos idiomas.
-¿Cómo celebras la cultura latina con tu familia?
RS: Tengo la suerte de tener un marido que a pesar de que es americano, de Los Ángeles, le encanta la cultura latina. Adora a Puerto Rico, le encanta nuestra comida, nuestra música, nuestras tradiciones… ¡Él realmente cree que es latino! Así que celebramos nuestra herencia a diario.
-¿Cuál es tu comida favorita portorriqueña?
RS: ¡Mofongo relleno de pulpo!
-¿Qué tienes en tu agenda para tu carrera musical?
RS: ¡La música para mí es un hobby! ¡Me encanta cantar y bailar! Mi objetivo es hacer teatro musical en Nueva York. Broadway es una prioridad para mí, así que ahí es donde quiero cantar de nuevo.
-¿Tienes programado algunos shows en el futuro cercano?
RS: Ahora todo el enfoque es en Devious Maids, pero estoy desarrollando proyectos con mi marido para la TV de modo que sí, vienen buenas noticias muy pronto, si Dios quiere.

Roselyn Sanchez
This Puerto Rican Diva, best known for her current role in the hit series “Devious Maids” has it all—fame, fortune and the perfect family.
It all started with her dream of having a singing part on Broadway. At age 21, after having been host of a popular Puerto Rican comedy-variety show, Qué Vacilón and winning the Miss Puerto Rico Petite and Miss America Petite pageants, Roselyn moved to the Big Apple in search of that dream.
It was actually in New York that Roselyn learned English and even though she struggled with the language that did not stop her from rising to fame. There she landed a role on the famous soap opera, “As the World Turns” where she portrayed the first Latino character of the show.
Her stunning looks, talent, passionate personality and lots of hard work made an even bigger dream come true—Hollywood stardom. Roselyn has had numerous leading roles including: FBI agent Elena Delgado in the CBS police procedural “Without a Trace”, and as Carmen Luna in the Lifetime comedy-drama “Devious Maids” and the Spanish sitcom “Familia En Venta’. In film, Rosalyn has appeared in “Rush Hour 2,” “Boat Trip,” “The Game Plan,” and “Act of Valor,” as wells as many others.
On the music front: Her first single “Amor Amor” from her debut album in 2003 was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Music Video. Roselyn returned to music in 2013, releasing “Pick Up Your Game,” teaming up with rapper Flo Rida.
But all the fame and fortune is usually not complete unless you have someone to share it with and she has been blessed with that too. She is married to the gorgeous Eric Winter, an actor best known for his television roles as Rex Brady in the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” and in “Brothers & Sisters,” “The Mentalist” and “GCB”. They have an amazing daughter named Sebella Rose who will most probably follow her parents’ footsteps.
The nicest thing about Roselyn is that she shares her good fortune. Roselyn loves animals and is very involved in animal protection, in particular abandoned and abused dogs from Puerto Rico (PetSOS). She also is “Godmother” of The San Jorge Children’s Foundation helping kids with cancer.
And this actress, singer, dancer and philanthropist still holds on to that dream….Broadway!
Interview with Rosalyn Sanchez:
-What do you like most about being a Latina?
RS: I love everything about being a Latina, what it represents. In my case as a Puertorican, the mixture of races is incredible. It means diversity, creativity, vitality, flavor, strength and beauty.
-What has been your favorite role on TV?
RS: My favorite role is the one I’m playing now, Carmen Luna in Devious Maids. She’s three-dimensional and a lot of fun to play.
-Of all the different hats you wear in your career, which is your favorite?
RS: My favorite hat in my career is the philanthropic work I do in my country. This business has given me a voice to be able to help children and animals. My two passions.
-How do you balance your home and busy career life?
RS: The only way to balance career and family is having undivided support from my husband, my family, my team and my friends. It’s not easy but definitely doable if you organize yourself and JUST DO IT.
-What’s your favorite beauty secret, or secret to looking so young?
RS: I don’t drink or smoke and never go to bed with makeup.
-What’s Your Mantra?
RS: DIOS conmigo y yo con EL (GOD with me and me with HIM).
-Who has been the most inspiring person in your life?
RS: My mother.
-What words of wisdom would you share with young aspiring Latinas?
RS: Have a clear vision of who you are, what you want and never doubt. Strength and wisdom will get you through.
-Will your daughter Sebella Rose be bilingual?
RS: I definitely want her to be bilingual. As of now it’s working and she speaks both.
-How do you celebrate the Latino culture with your family?
RS: I’m lucky to have a husband that even though he is American from Los Angeles, he loves the Latino culture. He adores Puerto Rico, loves our food, our music, our costumes…. He actually thinks he’s Latino! So we celebrate our heritage every day.
-What’s your favorite Puerto Rican food?
RS: Mofongo relleno de pulpo!
-What’s on the agenda for your music career?
RS: Music for me is a hobby! I love singing and dancing! My goal is one day to be able to do musical theater in NY. Broadway is a priority for me, so that’s where I want to sing again.
-Do you have any other upcoming shows in the near future?
RS: It’s all about Devious Maids right now but I’m developing projects with my husband for TV so yes, many, good news coming soon God willing.
